Natural Heartburn and Indigestion Relief
Most people spend a lot of money on prescription or over-the-counter remedies for these problems, remedies that often don't work.
Well, today I want to share a natural heartburn and indigestion relief tip that probably won't cost you anything other than a trip to the vegetable bin in your refrigerator.
Celery
As my friend Melissa put it when she sent me this tip, "Raw celery possesses the correct amount of whatever that instantly seems to neutralize and calm down an upset stomach. Natural antacid, they call it."
And, as Margaret later explained in more detail, "The whatever that celery has is an alkaline pH, and that's why it neutralizes the acidity of heartburn. Eating it raw or drinking the juice in combination with other greens, plus apple, carrot, etc is a great way to alkalize and cure a lot of other problems besides the heartburn! I have used it frequently in lieu of antacids or Rx remedies!"

That's it for Thursday.

A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar will get rid of hearburn and/or indigestion. If that seems a little hard to swallow add a bit of water to it.
I just read that chewing a piece of gum worked instantly for someone, and I just tried it and it worked! I am trying to get off meds for heartburn and simplify my life in other ways. The gum works, and I have heard that the vinegar will work as well.
I read that peppermint oil has menthol which helps relieve heartburn/indigestion. Since i didnt have any peppermint I tried a mentholated cough drop..worked for me
Peppermint is THE WORST thing for my heartburn. One taste and it's INSTANT. Peppermint is good for naseau, but not heartburn.
It's not the chewing gum that does it... it's the action of chewing! I just read this blog and with heartburn rife but no access to gum, decided to try out the chewing motion - and it worked instantly. Perhaps saliva neutralises the acid? Anyway, it only works if you keep chewing...
I'm pregnant and although the nausea has subsided somewhat, I am still plagued by indigestion. After eating I need to "burp" to feel better. I've found that eating a green apple after meals offers immediate relief.
I drink a little water with baking soda in it and it usually does the trick.
This a useful article! Thanks! I, too, have found that peppermint and peppermint oil are the worst for heartburn. One thing that works for me almost all the time is kombucha, which I brew myself. Probably the same sort of "cure" as taking the apple cider vinegar.
Try Aloecure. It is a natural aloe product. One week after I started to take Aloecure, I felt the burning sensation had almost gone.
