One
morning a trio of fictional bears came to my home and delivered unto me their
daily breakfast regiments. Before I could ask why they had selected me to bear
these recipes, they had gotten into their AMC Gremlin and drove away.
Paddington
Bear's Oatmeal
1
cup oatmeal 2 1/4 cups water 1/3 cup raisins (optional)
Spray
your crock pot with non-stick cooking spray and then combine ingredients in crockery.
Cook on low overnight or for eight to ten hours. When the raisins cook with the
oatmeal, they sweeten it. You can also add apples, cinnamon, and/or nuts.
Each
slow cooker cooks differently, so you'll need to adjust the water and cooking
time to find the right balance between mush and crunch.

Pooh
Bear's Millet Cereal
1
cup millet 3 1/2 cups water 1 tbs butter
Spray
your crockery with non-stick cooking spray and combine ingredients in your crock
pot. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
Serve
like oatmeal with a dab of butter and salt or butter and maple syrup or butter
and brown sugar. And, of course, honey.
Leftovers
can be used for millet burger patties. Just add an egg and enough flour to hold
it together. Fry on both sides and serve on bread with mayo, mustard, and sprouts.
Place
everything but vanilla into the crock pot. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Remove
lid, turn off heat, and stir in vanilla. Serve lukewarm. These are good with sprouted
wheat bread or you can serve chilled with whipped cream for dessert.
Enjoy
your crock pot breakfast.
