Fall Asleep Naturally without Drugs!
You've Ever Ridden on a Train, You Know How Easy
It is to Fall Asleep Listening to the Rhythm of the Rails...
Editor, Health & Beyond Online
though I'm closing in on 62 years of age as I write these words
in November of 2009, I vividly recall a train trip I took with
my parents when I was in fourth grade.
were traveling to San Diego, California, and I was super excited
because I was not only going on my first train trip, but I was
also going to visit one of the world's most famous zoos.
funny thing about this story is that I have only two very specific
memories of this exciting day in my life:
remember a scary and aggressive baboon...
remember falling deeply asleep on the ride home to the
sound of the train wheels clickedy-clacking on the tracks.
even though I'm now more than 50 years away from that zoo visit
and train ride, I spent a good part of 2008 refining a CD to duplicate
the train sounds and experience that put me to sleep so memorably
all those decades ago.
created the CD because I wanted a natural way to shut off the compulsive
that used to turn on so automatically every night the moment my
head hit the pillow to go to sleep.
late 2008, I completed the final version of my effort to duplicate
the train ride of my youth.
I tested it several nights each week for almost a year to make
sure it helped me stop thinking and start sleeping.
I put the CD into the boom box by my bed each evening, I'd mumble
to take the night train to dreamland, boyo."
that's what consistently happens because I can count on the
fingers of one hand the number of times I've actually been awake
to hear the end of the single 50-minute track.
a quick note from Judy...
miracle happened last night.
NightTrain CD actually worked!!!
CD player would not auto replay so I would sleep 2-3 hours and
wake, press the play button again and fall back to sleep. I
am lucky if I fall back to sleep even once a month. Then early
this morning the player began to function properly and replay.
Around 3:00 am I thought I was finished sleeping and turned
the television on (it has been my practice to leave it on all
night for the last 3 years to "drown out my thought process")
I fell back to sleep and slept through my alarm by 20 minutes.
it works too well?
37 years my typical night is 2 to 3 hours sleep, 4 if I am lucky
then awake for the remainder of the night.
funny story - I rode an Amtrak train to Colorado to ski once
and it was the "night from hell". I did not sleep
1 minute on that train. I was afraid I would have flashbacks.
cannot wait to see if I continue to sleep with the help of my
new NightTrain CD.
bet that you'll have the same experience.
I tell you more about the NightTrain Sleep System,
however, let me share a few thoughts about sleep problems.
You Suffer Insomnia Symptoms?
you're a typical stressed out 21st century man or woman, you're
probably suffering from insomnia and no doubt experiencing at
least some of the following typical insomnia symptoms on a regular
occasional heart palpitations.
any of the above sound familiar, then you're not alone.
is taking a fearsome toll on people living crazy lives
in our hectic world.
You see, according
a poll released on March 2, 2009, by the National Sleep Foundation,
one-third of Americans lose sleep over the state of the U.S. economy
and other personal financial concerns.
you lay awake like this,
you need the NightTrain
poll suggests that inadequate sleep is associated with unhealthy
lifestyles and negatively impacts health and safety.
Not Easy to Overcome
to a report in the March 9, 2009, issue of Archives of Internal
Medicine about three-fourths of individuals with insomnia
report experiencing the condition for at least one year and almost
half experience it for three years.
Contributes to Obesity
2004 to 2006, the
National Center for Health Statistics conducted a survey
of over 87,000 adults.
confirmed a link between obesity and
sleep loss in this door-to-door survey.
third of those surveyed who slept less than six hours were obese.
of those who slept the normal seven or eight hours, only 22% were
sleep drugs on the market don't offer very sensible solutions,
of the prescription drugs for sleep problems come with serious
and potentially dangerous side effects.
a news release in March of 2007 the FDA notified healthcare professionals
of its request that all manufacturers of sedative-hypnotic drug
products, strengthen their product labeling to include stronger
language concerning potential risks.
risks include severe allergic reaction,
severe facial swelling, complex sleep-related behaviors, memory
lapses, and hallucinations.
behaviors may include sleep-driving, driving while not fully awake
after ingestion of a sedative-hypnotic product, with no memory
of the event.
Day's Thoughts and
Experiences with Audio Sleep Aids
been using an audio aid to help me sleep since 2001 when
I lived in a college dorm. Dorm night life never really
settles down, especially when you're delegated to the loud
freshman dormitories. In those days, I used a white noise
generator, ocean waves, and eventually a software program
that allowed me to customize the experience.
been out of college since 2004, but I continue to loop a
sleep CD in my bedroom. My wife introduced me to rain and
thunderstorms, and for years that's what we used to fall
asleep and stay asleep.
good as that thunderstorm CD was, I'm happy to say it's
been permanently retired, thanks to NightTrain.
never experienced anything close to NightTrain
when it comes to falling asleep quickly and staying asleep
through the night.
and rhythmic, NightTrain turns your bedroom
into a train's cozy sleeping car and you become a passenger,
the rails quietly passing beneath your feet as if you were
in a rocking chair.
first night we used the NightTrain CD I was
asleep within five minutes. And I slept through the night
the rest I experienced was so deep and rejuvenating
that it was a major effort to get up the next morning. But
once the initial grogginess passed I felt great.
a three gallon fish tank in our bedroom with
a timer that turns the tank light on half an hour before
our alarm clock goes off.
with live plants and blue and red little fish that look
like living jewels, the light from the tank gradually brings
me out of every night's deep sleep.
sleep I've been getting with NightTrain has
been so good that for the first time in my life the alarm
clock actually rips me out of sleep. Before I'd always been
conscious in some form. Now, thanks to NightTrain,
I'm deep in REM or stage 3 or 4 sleep before the alarm clock
jars me awake.
wife Leah has experienced the same results.
both truly love this CD. NightTrain goes with
us when we leave the house for overnight trips because we
just don't get the same quality of sleep without it.
Falling Asleep at Night Hell for You?
you're the average overworked and over-stressed man or woman,
falling asleep at night is torture.
crawl exhausted into bed, but you're still watching the clock,
waiting to fall asleep at midnight...
even at three a.m. every morning.
the alarm shatters what little sleep you've had, you can't believe
it's already time to get up because you're as exhausted as a hung-over
grad student who stayed up all night to finish a paper.
what are you currently doing to help yourself fall asleep?
you're like the average Joe or Jane, you're...
and turning fitfully while counting backwards from a hundred...
on over-the-counter or prescription drugs with side effects
that even the FDA warns about...
to work so tired every morning you may as well be a zombie.
Well, you know as well as I do that the above
is NOT a healthy way to live your life.
