A Health & Beyond Review:
Journey
to Wild Divine
by
Chet Day
I
guess the last time I was totally blown away by a game was back in 1985 when I
bought my first computer -- an Apple IIc -- and then spent over a month's
worth of my spare time exploring the underground world of Infocom's synapse-crunching
adventure game, Zork.
Well,
as I write these words in mid-April of 2005, I've been having the same kind of
goosebump experiences with The Wild Divine Project's inner-active adventure
for mind and body, Journey to Wild Divine.
Unlike
traditional computer games, Journey to Wild Divine
incorporates a biofeedback unit called the Light Stone that allows the
story and events of the game to unfold based on your brain activity, blood
pressure, muscle tension, heart rate and other critical bodily functions.
Stop
for a second and let that one sink it.
Yes,
this is a computer adventure game that you not only control and influence with
your intellect by figuring out what to do next, but it's also an inner-active
journey that reacts in different ways depending on your
- brain
activity
- blood
pressure
- muscle
tension
- heart
rate
- and
other critical bodily functions.
Tell
me that isn't just about the coolest thing you've heard recently?
You
see, the Journey to Wild Divine's innovative
biofeedback hardware measures your skin conductance level (SCL) and your heart
rate variability through three "Magic Ring" sensors gently attached
to your fingers. The measurements are registered through the Light Stone
and fed back to you through biofeedback "events" on the screen.

Absolutely
Stunning Graphics
Wearing
the three finger sensors, you move through enchanting and mystical landscapes
using
the
power of your thoughts, feelings, breath and awareness.
The
graphics in Journey to Wild Divine
are breath-taking in places and simply stunning in others. The colors are so intense
in places they practically shimmer.
If
you put the lights down low or (as I do) play the game at night with all room
lights turned off, you'll feel as if the normal world dropped away when you entered
the visually stunning world created by the Wild Divine graphic artists.
I've
not been this impressed with graphics since the first time I played the original
Myst when it first came out for our Macintosh.
And
the music...
Whoa,
talk about theme-appropriate music that's both beautiful and peaceful.
If
you're into uplifting music, you're going to enjoy the atmospheric sounds of Journey
to Wild Divine as much as you do the stunning graphics and engaging
game play.

What
about Help Files?
Instead
of cheat files, a number of wise and interesting mentors guide you throughout
the realm of the Wild Divine.
Each
of them empowers you with yoga, breathing and meditation skills that you'll
need to complete over 40 biofeedback energy events.
For example, you'll
interact with Sophia, who introduces the journey to you and explains
what your adventure will entail.
And
you'll learn breathing and body-stilling techniques from a Zen master
who not only teaches you what to do in his training palace but who also appears
at other points in the journey to help you continue to grow.
Learning
from your mentors and using the power of your mind and body through the biofeedback
Light Stone, you will
- Build
stairways with your breath
- Open
doors with meditation
- Levitate
a sphere with your thoughts
- Control
the intensity of rainfall
- Juggle
balls with your laughter
- Shoot
arrows at a target
- Fly
kites from a mountain perch
- Fan
the flames of a fireplace
- and
much, much more.
Journey
to Wild Divine as a Meditation Tool
If
you've been reading my newsletters or website for any length of time, you know
that I've been meditating since 1980 and that I consider meditation one of the
most important tools for a long, happy, and healthy life.
Unfortunately,
up until now, many people never gave meditation a chance because they just didn't
like the idea of sitting quietly or counting their breaths or chanting mantras.
Well,
with Journey to Wild Divine you'll
use biofeedback to learn how to calm your body and enter into the same kind of
healthful state that you can achieve through traditional meditation... and, importantly
and significantly, you'll have fun doing it!
I'm
not alone in thinking the Journey to Wild Divine
is better than sliced bread.

Comments about Journey to Wild Divine |
| The
Wild Divine is helping to transform our mass consciousness to one of peace
and harmony through a very practical program that allows people to get in intimate
touch with the innermost core of their being. To know that they have more power
than they have ever realized, to know that they can influence what is happening
in their body, in their mind, in their emotions, as well as in the world that
they create everyday.
Deepak Chopra, M.D. Author, The Book of Secrets |
| The
Journey to Wild Divine trains people to think and feel in new ways. To be
more creative, more imaginative, and to inspire to a much larger awareness, one
that is superbly equipped to deal with the complex changes of modern life.
Jean Houston, Ph.D. Author, The Possible Human |
| This
enchanting game is like having Yoda in your living room!
It trains you in mind/body/spirit magic. Become a warrior of the heart, learn
to harness the power of your intention, and create a conscious life- all while
having fun.

| The
Journey to Wild Divine is more than a game, it's a tool for the Mind-Body
work we value. It certainly has proven so with me - and it's a hit with my patients.
It's an outstanding product and since it's amazingly inexpensive, I encourage
my patients to use it as home practice. It's complex and challenging enough that
no one has gotten tired of using it.

Like
having Yoda in your living room...
Well,
I don't know about that.
I
mean, seriously, I find Yoda rather annoying, and I wouldn't want him in my living
room other than as an occasional invited guest.
But,
with that said, Journey to Wild Divine
is an excellent product, especially for people who want a scientifically-validated
way to learn to relax their minds and bodies while listening to soothing music
and having fun.
A
Nonviolent Gaming Alternative
It's
also a totally nonviolent game that many children, teen-agers, and young
adults will find a welcome (and challenging) relief to the shoot-em-up, violent
games that populate the video and computer stores and catalogs.
Sadly,
my sons grew up and moved out before Journey to Wild
Divine came along.
I
sure wish this nonviolent alternative had been available when they were still
hanging around and wasting so much of their developing brain power to shoot and
kill tens of thousands of computer game monsters.
But
I suspect many boys and teens will find the biofeedback challenges in Journey
to Wild Divine interesting enough to at least spend some of their
gaming time with it rather than with Grand Theft Auto or some such
nonsense.

In
any event, let me wrap things up with a...
Wholehearted
Endorsement
Long-time
readers of my newsletters and website visitors know that I advertise tons of stuff
but that I only rarely endorse and recommend anything.
Well,
I'm happy to say that Journey to Wild Divine
has earned the Health & Beyond stamp of approval.
Journey
to Wild Divine is a superb product, both as a tool for improved
health and well-being as well as a game that's fun to play for kids and adults.
This
is one of those rare purchases that you'll appreciate making for a long time to
come.
